I thought I had mastered the art of preparing bloggerel and setting a time for WordPress to post it in the future. Until yesterday afternoon, when I wrote the grumpy bloggage and hit ‘publish’ rather than setting a date. So consider that today’s entry, but for anyone who has seen this and come specially today, here’s a quick joke by way of apology…

The stage adaptation of Dante’s inferno was going well until the moment when one of the lead characters had to stand on a trapdoor and exclaim,at which point the trapdoor should have opened and he would have vanished from sight.

On this night, however, the trapdoor stuck. The actor exclaimed, “Woe is me, I descend into hell!” and nothing happened. He repeated the line, louder and clearer, and still nothing happened.

Then a voice from the audience shouted out, “Hooray, hell is full!”
