ten ways to bless someone in 2012

Hand Count 10Here is another list for you…

Ten ways to bless other people this year:

  • Pray for them. Consistently.
  • Invite them around for a meal.
  • Surprise them with a gift you have made for them.
  • Send them an email or text message (or letter!) out of the blue, reminding them of some of their good qualities.
  • Give them some vouchers they can redeem for you to do some housework / gardening / shopping / carwashing / babysitting (as appropriate).
  • Listen to them.
  • Each week tell them something you appreciate about them… by the end of the year they will have had their confidence boosted 52 times!
  • If you get a ‘buy one get one free’ offer, give the free item to someone else.
  • Ask them to teach you . share with you one of their hobbies / interests.
  • Tell them you are praying for them. Consistently.

The great thing is that these are almost all cost-free or at least are relatively cheap, but the impact is to bless someone else’s socks off! Got any other ideas?

Be blessed, be a blessing.

A Catholic Priest and a Rabbi were chatting one day when the conversation turned to a discussion of job descriptions and promotion. “What do you have to look forward to in way of a promotion in your job?” asked the Rabbi.

“Well, I’m next in line for the Monsignor’s job.” replied the Priest.

“Yes, and then what?” asked the Rabbi.

“Well, next I can become a Bishop.” said the Priest.

“Yes, and then?” asked the Rabbi.

“If I work real hard and do a good job as Bishop, it’s possible for me to become an Archbishop.” said the Priest.

“O.K., then what?” asked the Rabbi.

The Priest, begining to get a bit exasperated replied, “With some luck and real hard work, maybe I can become a Cardinal.”

“And then?” asked the Rabbi.

The Priest is really starting to get mad now and replies, “With lots and lots of luck and some real difficult work and if I’m in the right places at the right times and play my political games just right, maybe, just maybe, I can get elected Pope.”

“Yes, and then what?” asked the Rabbi.

“Good grief!” shouted the Priest. “What do you expect me to become, GOD?”

“Well,” said the Rabbi, “One of our boys made it!”
